My research challenge is in this class (IM 204), the struggles I am having is getting the information I am specifically looking for in able to successfully accomplish this project correctly. So far I have only been able to talk to one leader of the Outdoor Endeavors org, but am hoping to find more of the mutlicultural issues they are currently encountering in a future meeting I plan on setting up for next week. Another struggle I am having is figuring out the RIGHT kinds of questions to ask; I am very uncertain of the types of questions to ask in able to find out the information I need.
Hi Maria,
ReplyDeleteFormulating the right questions to ask can be a challenge sometimes, as we discussed in class this Friday.
Please take a look at the websites I sent you regarding Dudley Edmondson via email. This will give you a starting point to your conversation in regard to the multicultural issues/challenges that they may be facing.
In regard to a research question (or questions) for the project to start searching for resources, the websites might give you a starting point in order to create your research question(s) for OPAC and database research.
It is a shame that you missed this Friday's class. You might want to touch base with Lanisha, as well as look at the PowerPoint about Research Questions on the D2L Course News Page to get more of an idea of how to formulate the research question.
After you review those resources, please email me a list of potential research questions that you would like to pursue for Outdoor Endeavors. I will take a look and let you know if they are OK or need a little tweaking. After that, you can bring them to the Outdoor Endeavors group and let them choose what they would like to address.
Does that sound good?

Thank you very much for this response. I would be more than happy to send you potential questions to ask Outdoor Endeavours, I greatly appreciate this assistance! I am also very interested in possibly setting up a time outside of class for further assistance! Thank you.
